A stay full of history and landscapes in Ardeche

The Camping Le Plan d’Eau is located in the heart of the Southern Ardèche. That is to say close to many exceptional sites.
First of all the Ardèche is marked by history.
And it begins, more than 35 000 years ago. At the Chauvet Cave you will discover the vestiges of a distant era. You can also visit many other caves in the southern Ardèche: L’Aven d’Orgnac, La Grotte de la Madeleine, La Grotte de la Cocalière, …

The Ardèche is also dotted with Dolmen, Gallic vestiges, which you will discover at the bend of a path or a road during your excursions. The Dolmen of Myas is a few kilometres from the campsite.
Then came the Romans who also left their mark. The Roman cloaks are present almost everywhere in Southern Ardèche, but it is in Alba la Romaine that you will find the best preserved site. Take the opportunity to visit the Museal.
Finally, it was the time of the castles!
In Aubenas, Largentière, Vogüé, Montreal and many others, you can visit those castles from another time, in which you will find exhibitions and animations.

During your excursions, you will discover, nested at the foot of a cliff or perched on a rocky python, the villages of Ardéchois characters.
Vogüé, Balazuc, Antraïgues sur Volane, Labeaume, Ailhon, Mirabel, Saint Jean Le Centenier, all these villages are real treasures to be discovered in fantastic landscapes.
