Aubenas and villages of character

Castles, churches and old villages of character streak along the roads: Mirabel and its square tower, Voguë, Aubenas and their castle, Rochecolombe and its waterfall, Antraïgues and the museum Jean Ferrat, or Labeaume and its river, there is a wide range of surprisingly beautiful villages only a few kilometers around the campsite.

These villages have preserved their heritage and it is very nice to visit them and discover there the traditions of the Ardèche.

Aubenas, just 3km from Camping le Plan d’Eau, is a central point for the Ardèche.
Its castle and its old town nested on a hill are very pleasant to visit especially on Saturday, market day.

Mirabel and St Laurent sous Coiron are two villages high up on the Coiron plateau just above Camping Le Plan d’Eau. Also very nice starting point for many walking paths.

Voguë, only 15 minutes drive from the campsite, is nestled with its castle against the cliffs and on the edge of the Ardèche. After the visit of the village and the castle, its sandy beach on the side of the Ardèche in the heart of the village is very pleasant.

Going up to Antraïgues sur Volane, country of Jean Ferrat, you will admire the beauty of the valley of the Volane to finally discover this village perched in the middle of the mountains. The visit of the village can end with the museum of Jean Ferrat which is located on the very beautiful place of the village. Many walking paths start from Antraïgues to the surrounding old volcanos and chestnut trees forests.

Labeaume, a small village in the hollow of the river of the same name is exceptional. Take your swimsuit to enjoy the clear water of its river.

Many other villages reveal their secrets: Jaujac, Balazuc, Ailhon, Thueyts, Meyras, ….

At the reception of the campsite, we will advise you on the most beautiful visits.
